So, How's It Going?
I got some funny comments on my last post regarding my list of non-resolutions....it didn't sound that ambitious, spread out over a year, to me. Now if I were one of those maniacs who plan to knit twelve sweaters this year......! Keep in mind that most of the list (and this wasn't my entire list by any stretch) can be done sitting down!
Anyway, I finally downloaded some pictures, so I'll do a little update here on my progress so far. Unfortunately, the Christmas decorations are now all down and put away and I forgot to take pictures. Although, it's hard to take pictures of stuff that isn't there anymore, so I'll show you a picture of the new camera instead.

Exercise. That's going well, too. I've been multi-tasking on the treadmill....watching Martha is my guilty little secret so I kill two birds with one workout. The distraction has kept me on for 40-45 minutes, most days....good old Martha. Who could use a little more treadmilling and a little less sampling of the goodies in that kitchen. But I digress. I'm really wishing for a good 12" snowstorm instead of this ice nonsense so I can go do more of this:
I did whip up a pair of mittens for one of the grandkids (forgot to take picture...imagine royal blue kid's mittens) and then reached a decision on my next knitting project, which happens to be a WIP as we speak! I love the Lisa Lloyd sweater called Port Clyde (Winter '08, Wild Fibers)
but was going nuts because I couldn't find a yarn in stash that I thought would work. (Oh, no.....I might have to buy yarn!) As I was digging through the yarn closet, I had a thought that seems to be working. I bought enough Green Mountain Spinnery Maine Organic at Rhinebeck to do Portland from A Fine Fleece and turns out, same gauge. I'm about half an inch away from starting the pattern! Even though I'm NOT doing the sweater a month thing, I'm only going to give myself a month, max, to finish this. Well, I need clothes and who can find winter stuff now? In winter? But, I also want to be free by February for the weaving I mentioned. It may be a "challenge" with Shelley, on the idea of the little Old Shale shawlettes we did last fall, but I think I have found the project I want to try.

I'm tired just reading this. You talk about sitting down, and you don't seem to be doing much of it. But then again, neither should I! I have seen the Martha (and the Oprah) and would rather not use them as role models.

Sounds like you're staying busy. I will have a bread update tomorrow because I started dough last night...

You'll have the camera mastered in no time. The sweater will be warm and wonderful for winter wear. You'll use it this year and many more to come!

I KNEW you'd have appropriate yarn for it... somewhere...... I like that pattern very much as well. Might have to add it to "the list".

Maybe they'll have an adult ed camera class in your town this winter.
What a pretty sweater that is! I love the collar! I think that yarn will be perfect for it!
It's a shame you'll have to be making a trip to Webs soon...you poor thing. :)

Hey! I received a new Canon camera for Christmas as well. And an "idiot" book for it. I'll need it. If you learn any neat photo/camera tricks, I'd love to hear them.
Love that sweater pattern - gulp, a sweater in one month! Can't wait to see it.
Thanks for the comments on my blog concerning weather. Sorry to hear about your ice - that IS nasty.
And, um, Martha? MARTHA?????!!!
