Remember this?
When I finally got to sit last night after unpacking the truck, grocery shopping and making dinner, I started to play with the small skein that I had spun in Baltimore. After pulling out the five or six yards to send to SpinOff (not an easy task....my favorite sections weren't necessarily near each other!), I decided it might be fun to see how this stuff actually knits up! Now, we had to do a swatch in the SOAR workshop, but mine was a normal flat swatch and it dawned on me that the yarn might behave differently knitted up, well, more like a sock! I was confident that it would be cool...this was a technique from a Judith MacKenzie McCuin class, after all! Keep in mind this was a very small sample and.....TA DA!
It knits into tweedy stripes! I like it...must go order some Ashland Bay merino!

That is gorgeous! What strong, bold colors! I'd love to take a class from Judith MacKenzie McCuin, her Spin Off tutorials were SO helpful when I was learning to spin! Lucky you! :o)

Beautiful sock yarn! That is going to make some awesome socks! Did you cast on for a pair right away?
Thanks for the reminder that I still haven't sent in anything yet!

Gorgeous colors - and did you see how they match the tapestry/rug to the left?

Nice! Wouldn't have guessed that would be what it would look like.

Beautiful! I love the surprises that go with spinning, plying and then knitting ones handspun.
